SEARSPORT — The administration at Searsport District High School has outlined its graduation plans amid the pandemic.

Seniors will receive an appointment with their advisor between June 1 and June 3 between noon and 4 p.m. Each student will be filmed marching into Pomp and Circumstance, as well as filmed receiving their diploma with the superintendent, principal, and advisor on stage spaced apart.

Each senior may have up to 10 tickets for family to watch and have pictures taken in a separate room. All parties are to wear masks.

Each senior’s footage will be pieced together into one movie. On June 11, at 8:30 p.m., seniors will parade through town, ending in the school parking lot to watch the ceremony in the parking lot.

The route of the parade details will be forthcoming. Designated spots will be appropriately spaced apart to adhere to CDC guidelines and each student will have one car slot.

The film will be livestreamed for those unable to attend and each student will receive a copy.

Senior class night will be held virtually through Google Meet on June 4 at 6 p.m. and livestreamed for all to view. Each senior is expected to join the meeting as each senior will earn recognition, awards and some will hear about scholarships they earned.
