TENANTS HARBOR — Jackson Memorial Library, in Tenants Harbor, will host an exhibition entitled “2 Friends Paint” featuring artists Judy Nixon and Virginia Forrest.

The show begins April 17 and runs through May 31. 

Bristol resident Judy Nixon feels a personal connection to her subjects, striving to capture the special island atmosphere of Monhegan, as well as the more intimate light and color of gardens and creatures closer to home, according to a news release.

Virgina Forrest, of Wiscasset, often finds inspiration in the simple things in her surroundings and has a particular love of old homes in coastal Maine and boats in the harbors.

Both artists work in watercolor and gouache.
