ROCKPORT — Traffic along Route 1 in Rockport came to a halt at approximately 6 p.m., Nov. 1, when a pickup rear-ended a Volkswagen station wagon as the driver of that car was attempting to turn left onto Main Street.

The crash happened just after it got dark and the roads were wet under a cold drizzle.

Both vehicles were heading south when the crash occurred. There were no injuries, and both drivers were out of their vehicles and walking about.

Rockport firefighters responded quickly from the station, which is just up the hill, and Camden Exxon arrived soon after to help clear both the truck and car from the highway so that traffic could again resume.
