The Friends of the Rockport Public Library’s Donut Dash 5K Family Fun Run/Walk was held at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 14. For a third year in a row, the event took place in cool and misty weather — conditions that participants claimed were “perfect for running.” The race was run by 214 people, with a few dogs and babies in strollers mixed in.

The overall male and female winners of the race were Sam Tooley, 17, with a time of 16:57 and Isabella Anderson, 18, with a time of 20:14. The…

Trekkers, the Rockland-based youth mentoring organization, is gearing up for its annual 5K Run/Walk fundraiser on Sunday, June 8, 2025. The event will once again kick off from Trekkers at 325 Old County Road.

Registration is open! All proceeds from race entries will benefit Trekkers’ youth programs, while participating students will also be raising funds to help cover their program dues. Dues help support essential elements of the Trekkers’ experience, including transportation, lodging, meals, and activities…

Camden Hills boys’ tennis team defeated Edward Little High School boys’ tennis team 5-0, at  home, Tuesday June 2, with the the Windjammers securing a shutout win over the Red Eddies. 

Individual results, with Camden Hills’ players listed first, were: In singles, Will Meyer defeated Calvin Vincent 6-0, 6-0, Oscar Barnes defeated Gabe Vincent 7-5, 7-5 and Zach Mason defeated Lucas Guihomat 6-4, 6-4.

The Waldo County YMCA (WCY) Bluefish swim team hosted a successful and spirited Dan Horton Invitational Swim Meet on May 17th, bringing together 67 enthusiastic participants ranging in age from 18 to an impressive 88 years old. The event, held at the Tom and Sally Savage Natatorium at the WCY, proved to be a fantastic display of community spirit and athletic prowess.

Several Belfast students and BMI staff recently took part in the inaugural voyage of the Belfast Marine Institute’s fleet of kayaks. The BMI announced it would be hosting a weekly Monday evening kayak around the harbor, up the Passy or out into the bay as part of their Floating Classroom initiative to get students out, on, in and under the waters of Penobscot Bay.

There was a lot of interest from students wanting to participate.
