Waldoboro Police beat: Lottery ticket theft, operating after suspension, arrest warrant
WALDOBORO - Waldoboro police responded to 301 calls for service from Sept. 8-14. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
Sept. 8
Officer Larry Hesseltine investigated an accident on Atlantic Highway at 9:20 a.m. Niki Mank, 27, of Damariscotta, was driving a 2010 Ford sedan and Steven Granholm, 58, of Brunswick, was driving a 2003 Volkswagen sedan. Mank’s vehicle was travelling eastbound and stopped while making a left turn into Camden National Bank. Granholm’s vehicle was travelling eastbound following the roadway. Granholm was distracted and ran into the back of Mank’s vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Officer Larry Hesseltine investigated an accident on Friendship Road at 3:10 p.m. Jennica Miller, 24, of Friendship, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet sedan. Miller’s vehicle was travelling southbound, and the operator was distracted and went off the road on the right side. The vehicle travelled down the shoulder of the road, hitting a dirt mound and went airborne, hitting a utility pole about four feet off the ground. Injuries were reported.
Sept. 9
David Beaucatge, 52, of Newcastle, was issued a summons by Hesseltine for operating after suspension.
Hesseltine is investigating a report from Irving Mainway of the theft of a lottery ticket valued at $25.
Thomas Walker, 41, of Bristol, was arrested by Hesseltine on a warrant.
Sept. 11
Phillip Griffin, 42, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Officer Steven Drake for harvesting clams without a town license.
