Tue, 06/30/2026 - 2:15pm
The City of Rockland has partnered with Northeastern University's Roux Institute to bring Venture Forward Rockland to the community.
"Venture Forward is of the state's premier business growth programs designed to help local entrepreneurs and small businesses strengthen, scale, and sustain their businesses," said the City of Rockland, in a news release.
Venture Forward supports both new and established businesses by providing the tools, expert mentorship, and strategic guidance to help participants innovate, grow sustainably, and build long-term resilience. There is no cost for businesses selected to participate.
The program combines interactive workshops, personalized mentorship from experienced business leaders across The Roux Institute's network and the local community, and project support from Northeastern University co-op students to help participants develop practical, customized strategies that accelerate business growth and achieve their long-term goals.
“The program provides practical assistance to help businesses achieve their goals for growth, and that is great for our local economy,” said Julie Hashem, Rockland's Community Development Director. “And the program is designed to build relationships among businesses that will provide benefits long after the program ends."
This marks The Roux Institute's first Venture Forward program in the Midcoast, expanding the Institute's commitment to supporting entrepreneurs and strengthening local economies across the state, according to the City of Rockland.
"We're excited to partner with the City of Rockland to bring Venture Forward to the Midcoast," said Chris Torina, Director of Entrepreneurship at The Roux Institute. "Small businesses are the backbone of our communities and a powerful driver of economic growth. Rockland has a vibrant and entrepreneurial business community, and we're excited to help local businesses build new skills, forge meaningful connections, and accelerate their growth."
Applications open August 1 through a short online application, with the program beginning in mid-October.
