Vegetables and instruments cohabitate in new art show at Rockport library
Visual artist Katharine Cartwright will be showcasing a selection of botanical paintings and prints at the Rockport Public Library from April 3 to 29. Cartwright, who has lifelong passions for gardening, music, and art, has created two distinct series of paintings. One series captures the beautiful symmetry of individual vegetable plants, while the other imagines plants transforming into musical instruments.
"Cartwright’s detailed and whimsical horticultural works were selected especially to complement the Rockport Library’s 2nd Annual SEED FEST, scheduled for April 11," said the Library, in a news release.
Cartwright has been designated as the featured artist for this year’s festival.
