UPDATE: Rockland OUI traffic stop leads to drug arrest
UPDATE (Jan.11) ROCKLAND — Michelle Heald, 45, of Waldoboro, is back in the Knox County Jail after being arrested by Rockland Police Jan. 10 on multiple charges.
Rockland Police were called Jan. 10 to Maine-Pre Trial at the Knox County Courthouse for a report of a bail violation by Heald. While police were en route, she attempted to flee the scene by cutting her court-ordered monitoring device. Heald was quickly apprehended, according to a news release issued by the department Jan. 11.
Heald was found in possession of illicit drugs and once at the jail, she was found trying to conceal drugs on and in her person. She was charged with violation of conditions of release, refusal to submit to arrest, unlawful possession of drugs, and trafficking in prison contraband.
More charges are expected, police said.
UPDATE (Dec. 28) ROCKLAND — A Waldoboro woman who was arrested Dec. 19 for operating under the influence and possessing drugs in her vehicle has posted bail and is currently under house arrest.
Michelle Heald, 45, of Waldoboro, made her initial appearance in Knox County Court Dec. 21 before Judge John Martin. At the hearing, Heald’s bail was set at $250 cash.
Heald was charged by police with two counts of unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, criminal operating under the influence, and violating conditions of release. She was transported to the Knox County Jail and was later released after posting bail.
According to the police affidavit filed in court, Heald told police that the pills located in her car were a prescribed drug Adderall, but were suspected to be fentanyl and/or methamphetamine.
At the hearing on Dec. 21, Heald was ordered to enter into a Maine Pretrial Contract prior to being released from jail. She is under house arrest and must wear a GPS monitor and can only leave her residence for legal, medical, or education appoints with prior approval.
Heald is scheduled to appear in court again on Feb. 23 for a dispositional conference.
ROCKLAND — Rockland Police located and stopped a vehicle on Dec. 19 at around 2 p.m. after they were notified of a possibly impaired driver.
Police identified the operator of the vehicle as 45-year-old Michelle Heald of Waldoboro, according to a news release posted on the department’s Facebook page Dec. 20.
Heald was arrested for operating under the influence.
During the investigation and arrest, officers located over 120 illicit prescription pills and a large quantity of suspected fentanyl and/or methamphetamine.
The suspect was charged and booked into the Knox County Jail for operating under the influence, violating conditions of release and two counts of unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs, according to police.
