Troy Howard, Medomak split 7th grade hoops action

BELFAST — The seventh grade boys and girls basketball teams for Medomak and Troy Howard met on the hardwood Thursday, Dec. 9 in Belfast. 

Girls: Troy Howard 62, Medomak 8

Troy Howard’s “A” team collected a 62-8 victory over the visiting Riverhawks. 

Scoring two points each for Medomak were Olivia McMurrin, Grace Havener, Molly Emerson and Lilly Hills. 

Scoring for Belfast were Gracie Moores (13 points), Alana Nichols (two), Payton Wadsworth (eight), Mia Oliphant (nine), Laura Carpenter (five), Jordan McKay (18) and Nikki Shorey (seven). 

Boys: Medomak 71, Troy Howard 36

Medomak held an 11-9 quarterly advantage over Troy Howard’s “A” squad after the opening quarter before trailing by two 23-21 at the half. Medomak entered the final quarter of play up 48-30.  

Scoring for Medomak were Landon Starr (20 points), Kollin Donlin (11), Landon Morrison (seven), Clark Elwell (six), Noah Taggert (five), Joe Wilcox (five), Liam Ruffner (four), Gavin Taggert (four), Grady Curtis (three), Landon Lewis (three), Liam Feeley (two) and Andrew Flanders (one). 

Scoring for Belfast were Colton Luce (eight points), Jerry Cole (eight), Adam Robson (six), Jackson Faulkingham (five), Tristan Bryant (three), Aiden Gilbert (two), Brendyn Kelley (two) and Ben Milliken (two).
