Application packets due to the Trekkers office by March 15

Trekkers invites 7th graders to apply

Tue, 03/02/2021 - 5:45pm

Trekkers is gearing up to welcome 40 new seventh graders from its six-town service area of Thomaston, Cushing, St. George, South Thomaston, Owls Head and Rockland. Seventh grade students from these towns who are interested or want to learn more are encouraged to reach out at info@trekkers.org, call the Trekkers office at 207-594-5095, and view this short About Trekkers Programs video.

Becoming a Trekkers means joining a group of up to 20 other peers for a 6-year learning and mentoring program. Groups meet monthly throughout the year (in-person when possible, virtually when not) to plan end of year expeditions, participate in activities, fun challenges, community service projects, explore personal goals, and outdoor adventures.

Throughout the pandemic, Trekkers has continued to safely meet the needs of students and families, offering virtual, hybrid, and small-group in-person meetings and implementing new safety protocols. Trekkers is optimistically planning to run expeditions later this year.

Application packets are available online and due to the Trekkers office by March 15. For each of the two teams, there are 20 spots, which are picked by a lottery system. If students are on a waiting list in the event a student opts out.
