Town of Appleton updates its January calendar
The Town of Appleton has provided a few updates to its January calendar:
The rabies clinic will now be January 17, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Appleton Fire Station. We apologize for the last-minute change. Please spread the word.
The Town office will be open for dog registrations at that time if you'd like to do that as well.
Remember, all dogs need to be licensed for 2026. We're in the grace period now, after February 1st there is a State-mandated $25 late fee. So please, get those shots and either come get a license here at the Town office, or do it online.
Other news:
1. The next Select Board meeting is Tuesday, January 13, at 6:30 p.m., at the Town office.
2. The Town office be closed on Monday, January 19, for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
3. There's a Tri-County Solid Waste Management Organization meeting Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., at the Appleton Town office.
4. The revaluation/equalization project is ongoing; we're now expecting callbacks to be more towards spring for anyone who wasn't home when the inspectors came through last summer.
5. The Fire Department Fund raiser was a big success, $2,381.92 was raised, just $118.08 short of the goal. And, we've been told that we can still accept donations to push us over if anyone still wants to join the effort. A big thank you to the 20 generous donors and those that "filled the boot" at the AVS Holiday concert last month.
