Silent auction to benefit Friendship/Cushing Food Pantry
The Friends of the Friendship/Cushing Food Pantry is sponsoring a Silent Auction to raise funds to support the food pantry, Friday, July 25, from 5 to 7 p.m., and Saturday, July 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Main Meeting House of the Cushing Historical Society, 17 Hathorne Point Road, in Cushing. The Friendship/Cushing Food Pantry is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization, run entirely by volunteers.
Admission to the auction is free, and there will be no bidder’s fee. All proceeds from the auction will go to the Food Pantry.
Donations will include handcrafted items and art made by local artisans. Gift certificates will be offered for recreational activities for families and kids, leisure time activities for adults, and meals or food items from local restaurants and markets. Vouchers for donated services will be available. Also, there will be some “Big Ticket’” items, including a week at a seaside cottage in Cushing.
The Cushing Historical Society’s Arts in the Barn “Wildlife” show will be occurring simultaneously at the same location and times, and there will be a Makers Market at Broad Cove Church on Pleasant Point Road in Cushing on Saturday, July 26, from 9 a.m. to noon.
