RSU 3 superintendent releases new letter with important information

Mon, 03/16/2020 - 6:15pm

    Dear RSU #3 Families,

I am writing to provide you with important updated information. Every hour there is new information being shared with us from our partners at the Maine DOE, CDC, etc. The administrative team is continuing to monitor the situation and making adjustments as needed. Below is detailed information about the availability of learning materials, food, and access to the buildings.

    Building Access:
The buildings will be open Tuesday, 3/17 and Wednesday, 3/18 from 7:30am-6:00pm for parents/students to come in and pick up learning materials, Gr. 6-12 laptops, medications, and any personal belongings that were left behind.

    Learning Materials:
Teachers have assembled packets of learning materials for all students in RSU #3. This material is available at each school as noted above. If you have questions about learning materials, please contact your child’s teacher(s) directly via email.

    School Meals:
We are committed to providing school meals to our students. Any child age 18 and under is eligible to receive a free breakfast and free lunch. School meals will be available at each school from 11:00am to 6:00pm, except at Unity Elementary where meals are available from 10:00am-12:00pm. These meals will be available on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. We are currently looking to develop a “delivery” service to begin after Wednesday. If you are unable to get to a pick-up site, please contact your child’s school or SNP at 568-4607 and we will do our best to assist you.

I appreciate the tremendous outpouring of support from the community in regards to helping us. This is an ever evolving situation that we are responding to as rapidly as we can. For the most up-to-date information, please go to: rsu3.org/covid-19-information

    Sincerely,
    Mr. Charles D. Brown, Superintendent
