Rosemarie F. Felt, obituary
ROCKLAND — Rosemarie Flanagan Felt, 78, died peacefully Sept. 9, 2015, surrounded by her loving family, following an extensive illness, at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport.
Born in Rockland on July 12, 1937, she was the daughter of James and Eileen Spinney Flanagan. Educated locally she was a 1957 graduate of Rockland High School.
Later moving to Augusta, Rosemarie attended Kennebec Valley Technical College where she earned her certificate as a certified nursing assistant. After returning to her beloved Midcoast area, she began working at Camden Healthcare Center. Although she enjoyed working, her true passion was raising her children.
Rosemarie enjoyed an active lifestyle, and she could often be seen in the summer enjoying a walk around town, often to the Rockland Public Library. She enjoyed reading, shopping (her granddaughter said her favorite places to shop were Goodwill, Salvation Army and most recently Seagull Cottage), and chatting while enjoying coffee with her friends. She took pride in her appearance and was always impeccably dressed. A good round of golf was her favorite pastime and she has enjoyed the game from a young age with her entire family. In 1990 she was proud to have gotten a hole-in-one on a par three hole at the annual Flanagan Family Reunion.
She had a kind and gentle spirit and took great pleasure in helping others. For several years she volunteered her time at the St. Bernard's Soup Kitchen.
Predeceased by her parents; a brother, William Flanagan; and a sister-in-law, Llada Flanagan; Rosemarie is survived by her son, Raymond Felt and his wife, Kim, of Rockland; her daughters, Eileen Knight and her husband, Frederick, of Cushing, and Kellie Felt of Nashville, Tenn.; her siblings, James Flanagan Jr. and Daniel Flanagan, both of Rockland, Carolyn Flanagan of New Hampshire, Maryann Juco and her husband, Ricky, of Rockland, Timothy Flanagan and his wife, Judy, of Wiscasset, Eileen Flanagan of Friendship, and Kathleen Martin and her husband, Jeff, of Bethel; her grandchildren, Kasey Drinkwater and her husband, Wes, Erika Felt and her companion, Kyle Ruffner, and his children, Stephanie Mank and her husband, Caleb, Erin Schultz and her husband, Trevor, and Ryan Moholland and Canaan Morse; her great-grandchildren, Aubrianna Rose, Tucker, Nicholas and Jaxon; as well as a large extended family, including many nieces, nephews and cousins.
