Ronald Withee Emerton, obituary
ISLESBORO — Ronald Eugene Withee Emerton died at Pen Bay Hospital in Rockport, on November 27, 2018 after a long illness.
He was born to Carlene and Earl D. Withee, Jr., in Rockland Maine on March 24, 1963.
Ronnie was adopted by Whitney and Effijean Emerton of Islesboro.
He attended Islesboro Central Schools and Region 8 Vocational School in Rockland. During his high school years Ronnie was on the basketball team for four years, was in the school band and on the yearbook staff. He was active in the scouting program and enjoyed activities outdoors. He graduated high school in 1981.
After high school he went to plumbing school and worked for Zlotkowski Plumbing and also worked in the construction trade for local businesses. He was a member of Islesboro Masonic Lodge #89. He served for a short time in the US Army stationed at Fort Sill in Oklahoma.
He was predeceased by his adopted parents Whitney and Effijean Emerton of Islesboro, and his good friend Bruce Leach of Islesboro.
He leaves behind his best friend Fred Porter of Islesboro who loved him like a brother.
Services will be in the spring at the Gray Cemetery in Islesboro, date to be announced later.
