Registered sex offender arrested for stalking Washington woman
WASHINGTON — A Whitefield man was arrested Tuesday night and charged with stalking and driving to endanger following an incident in Washington Monday.
Knox County Sheriff’s Deputy Lance Mitchell investigated the complaint, which began Oct. 6 when a “very frightened woman” reported what started as a road rage incident, that soon turned into something more.
According to Sheriff Donna Dennison, the woman called police when the man from the road rage incident was seen driving back and forth in front of her home.
Mitchell and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Jared Mitcus obtained a warrant and arrested Matthew Connellan, 57, a registered sex offender, and took him Knox County Jail.\
Dennison said that Connellan was released after posting bail last night.
