Quarry Hill community gives to local organizations
During December, Quarry Hill’s resident-led Community Service Committee encouraged fellow residents to collect wrapped rolls of toilet paper for donation to a local charity.
"The effort resulted in an impressive 8-foot-tall 'toilet paper tree' made up of 265 rolls of various sizes and plies," said Quarry Hill, in a news release.
In the new year, the rolls were delivered to Area Interfaith Outreach in Rockland.
At the same time, residents, their families, and care team members contributed to the Warm Hands and Warm Hearts Mitten Tree Drive—a five-year tradition launched by Quarry Hill’s activities team. This year’s tree was adorned with 29 sets of mittens and gloves, three pairs of socks, two scarves, and one hat, all of which were donated to Homeworthy in Rockland.
"These initiatives are just two examples of how the people of Quarry Hill raise awareness and give back to the surrounding community throughout the year," said Quarry Hill
