Winter Lecture Series online returns with talk on Maine’s WWII service members
The Lincoln County Historical Association’s Online Winter Lecture Series returns Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., featuring author and historian Aimee Fogg. This free online lecture is open to the public, with advance registration required to receive the participation link.
Fogg’s presentation, The Dirigo Men of Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery: Stories of Maine’s WWII Service Members, spotlights the lives of Maine men who lost their lives during World War II and are buried overseas. Located in Homburg, Belgium, the Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery is the final resting place for thousands of American service members, including 54 from Maine.
Drawing from years of research, Fogg brings these individuals’ stories to life through personal letters, photographs, and historical records, allowing their voices to be heard once again. The talk is based on her third published work focused on the cemetery and its significance.
Aimee Fogg is the founder of They Speak: Voices of Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, an initiative dedicated to preserving the personal histories of the nearly 8,400 men buried at the site. She is the author of several publications and a recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution Women in American History Award.
The lecture is part of the Lincoln County Historical Association’s ongoing commitment to providing accessible and engaging historical programming throughout the winter months.
