Owls Head Transportation Museum hosts annual Holidays at the Museum celebration
The Owls Head Transportation Museum (OHTM) invites the community to celebrate the season at the Holidays at the Museum event on Sunday, December 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This annual tradition offers free admission, festive activities, and hands-on fun for families and visitors of all ages. Guests are invited to explore the museum’s collection of historic aircraft, automobiles, and engines while enjoying a robust lineup of holiday and STEM-centered activities, including:
● Cookie decorating ● Hot cocoa station ● “Presents Down the Chimney” parachute activity ● Touch-a-Truck with the Owls Head Fire Department ● Letters to Santa ● Live music from Ukes Rock ● Classic Grinch cartoon showing ● A special visit from Santa
Visitors can also engage with hands-on STEM experiences in the museum’s Science & Industry Center, which supports OHTM’s mission to spark curiosity and inspire future innovators.
In the spirit of giving, OHTM invites attendees to support two important community initiatives:
Fill the Model T for AIO Food Pantry
Guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation to help fill the museum’s Model T snowmobile, supporting the AIO Food Pantry Market during the holiday season.
Toys for Tots Drop-Off Site
OHTM will once again serve as a Toys for Tots donation location from November 17 through December 8. The museum is collecting new, unwrapped gifts for children infants through age 13, including:
● Colorful blankets ● Books ● Gifts for tweens (especially appreciated)
To best meet local needs, donors are asked to avoid baby dolls, as there is already an ample supply. Please note that gift cards and high-end electronics are not accepted.
Holidays at the Museum is part of OHTM’s commitment to providing accessible programming while strengthening community connections through education, generosity, and shared celebration.

Founded in 1974, the Owls Head Transportation Museum is a nonprofit educational organization with a mission to collect, preserve, exhibit and historic aircraft and ground vehicles significant to the evolution of transportation for education. Unlike static displays, the vast majority of OHTM’s collection is operational. The museum also offers a variety of hands-on volunteer opportunities as well as STEM-based (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) programs to young students and schools in our new SCIENCE & INDUSTRY CENTER.
