ROCKLAND — The Oceanside varsity softball team enjoyed a mercy rule victory over Winslow at home Friday, May 17.
The host Mariners collected a 13-1 victory to improve its record to 10-2.
Oceanside plated four runs in the first inning, three in the second, one in each the third and fourth and four in the fifth inning.
Winslow tallied its lone run in the fifth inning.
Oceanside collected seven hits and committed no errors.
Winslow recorded four hits and six errors.
In the pitcher’s circle for Winslow were Paige Trask (two innings, one strikeout, two walks, one hit-by-pitch) and Leah Knight (2.2 innings, five walks).
In the pitcher’s circle for Oceanside was Chloe Jones (five innings, 11 strikeouts, two walks, one hit-by-pitch).
At the plate for Oceanside were Kalli Grover (two singles, two RBIs), Jones (single, two RBIs), Abby Veilleux (single, RBI), Adrianna Whitemore (single, RBI) and Grace Pratt (single, RBI).
Pacing the Winslow offense were Trask (triple, RBI) and Jenna Rodrigue (double).
Up next for Oceanside will be a home contest against Belfast on Monday, May 20 at 4 p.m.
