Oceanside freshman boys open season with 5-1 record
ROCKLAND — The Oceanside Mariners freshman boys basketball team has started off the 2014 campaign with a 5-1 record.
Following are reported results from the team’s first six games to the Pilot.
The Mariners freshman boys team will resume action Tuesday, Jan. 6 when they travel to Bath to take on Morse.

Dec. 13 — Oceanside 56, Lincoln Academy 43
Scoring for Oceanside were Michael Norton (14 points; one three-pointer), Hunter Davis (13), Logan Sheridan (12), Jack Freeman (five), Josh Peaco (four), Nick Crudell (three), Leo Reid and Silas Miller (two each) and Nick Upham (one).
The Mariners went 9-for-23 at the free throw line.

Dec. 16 — Oceanside 60, Camden Hills 50 (OT)
With the game knotted at 50 at the end of regulation, Oceanside post 10 points in overtime and held Camden Hills to no overtime points to pick up the victory.
Scoring for Oceanside were Sheridan and Norton (14 points each; one three-pointer each), Peaco (10), Reid (nine), Davis (seven; five in overtime), Crudell (four) and Freeman (two).
The Mariners went 16-for-24 from the free throw line.
