THOMASTON - The Oceanside boys soccer team hosted Erskine Academy Aug. 29 at Sam Pendelton Field behind the Oceanside West School.

The Mariners are a fast team with some solid players who could make this team tough competition for other schools in the KVAC B ranks.

With people like Nick Judge and Eli Thorbjornson pressuring the goal along with Andrew King, Jimmy Strong and Walker Ranney and John Ferguson did a great job defensively keeping the ball out of the hands of sensational goalie Philip Atwood as much as possible. This is a goalie whom the team has complete confidence in because not many get by him. Ferguson would prefer none did.

Overall, the team looks solid and the players seem to all get along. The bench looks strong, which in soccer, is so important to keep fresh legs out there. This should be a solid season for the Mariners.
