2. November 3 Election
The general election is being held on November 3.
- From October 5-29, voters can request AND VOTE with absentee ballots here in the Town office. This is called "voting in the presence of the clerk."
If you want a ballot sent to you, the best way to get one is through the Maine Elections Website. The state will send your request to Appleton, and the town will send you a ballot.
You can also get an absentee ballot by contacting us in the Town office or stopping in.
October 29 is your last day to request an absentee ballot unless you have a special circumstance.
You can return your voted ballot by mail, put it in our drop box (by the back door), or drop it off in the office.
Voting will take place on November 3 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Fire Station.
The town will need to have all ballots returned by 8 p.m. on election day to have them counted.
Call anytime with questions 207-785-4722.
3. Revaluation
Appleton's first revaluation in 20 years is complete. If you have questions about how your land, buildings, or personal property were valued, the town's assessors' agent, Josh Bragan, will be at the Town Office on the second Monday of each month. (Next one: October 12, which is also Columbus Day.) Call for an appointment.
