MORRILL — Michael Woodbury, age 67, lost his battle with Alzheimer's disease on December 13, 2017.

A lifelong resident of Morrill, Mike leaves behind his wife Deborah and their children Jennifer and her husband Scott King,Laura and her partner Daniel Swinburne,Kelsey and Reid, as well
as grandchildren Riley, Anna and Reid II, and their mother Regina Quattrucci.. He is also survived by brothers Patrick and his wife Pat, and their children, and Tim and his companion Laura Jackson. He was predeceased by his parents, Norma and Francis.

Mike graduated from Belfast Area High School and attended the University of Maine where he majored in Animal Sciences. He spent most of his life as a painting contractor, but his true passion was being a father, grandfather, and coach to his own children as well as many basketball and track and field athletes in Waldo County. He volunteered hundreds of hours coaching YMCA basketball and travel teams, as well as summer track. He became a USATF official, and officiated at state and national meets, primarily as a racewalk and throws official. He was extremely proud of his children and their accomplishments, whether on the track, football field, soccer pitch, basketball court, the stage or classroom. He considered his children his greatest accomplishment, having instilled in them the qualities of hard work, perseverance and teamwork.

After the effects of his disease caused him to retire, Mike found fulfillment assisting his son, Reid, on the family farm and walking the neighborhood visiting anyone who would let him in the front door. The support of the people of Morrill, especially his neighbors, allowed Mike to remain at home until the later stages of his illness.

A huge support system of people helped care for Mike in the end stages of his disease, and the family wishes to thank them all. A few who must be mentioned are Dr. Mazur,
the staff at Woodlands Memory Care of Rockland, and his hospice nurses from Beacon Hospice,Miles and Claudine.

A time of remembrance of Mike will be held at Riposta Funeral Home on Saturday December 16, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. with service following at 3 p.m. Please come prepared to share a story or two as we celebrate the life of Michael Woodbury.
