Medomak 7th baseball opens season with 0-3 record

The Medomak Middle School seventh grade baseball team played three games over the past week with two of the contests being road showdowns. 

At the end of the week, the Riverhawks were left seeking its first win as Medomak started the season 0-3. 

Below are recaps of the contests as provided to our sports department. 

Nobleboro/Jefferson 13, Medomak 9

The season opened on the road Monday, April 29 and saw Medomak jump out to a 4-2 advantage after the opening two innings. 

Kyle Smith worked the mound for the Riverhawks and also collected a pair of hits. 

Aaron Reed (three hits) and Isaac Bickford (two hits) also paced the Medomak offense. 

Ivan Coffin worked the mound for the hosts and tallied a pair of hits.

Other Nobleboro/Jefferson hitters included Tucker Stiles (two), Alden Hunold (two), K. Crossley (one), Cohen Giberson (one) and Garrett Howard (one). 

Great Salt Bay 10, Medomak 9

In a Tuesday, April 30 home game, the Riverhawks abandoned the tying run on third base in the bottom of the seventh inning. 

The game featured 25 strikeouts and 36 walks. 

At the plate for for Medomak were Bickford (two hits), Kory Donlin (two hits) and Nathan Gess (one hit). 

Collecting hits for Great Salt Bay were Hagar (two) and Tomasello (one). 

Oceanside 20, Medomak 0 

In a Saturday, May 4 road contest in Thomaston, the visiting Riverhawks tallied two hits courtesy Reed and Bickford. 

Oceanside batters collected four hits as Medomak allowed 15 walks and committed six errors. 

R. Gavin (two), M. Taygan and Jakob collected the hits for Oceanside.
