Maxine F. (Teeney) Curtis, obituary
Maxine attended Morse Memorial School in Brooks, Maine. She married Charles Curtis and raised three children. She started working at Field & Quimby Insurance Agency before graduating from high school and remained there until her retirement at age 62. She enjoyed bowling, square dancing, line dancing, reading romance novels and doing crossword puzzles. She loved to bake desserts, enjoyed getting together with her many girlfriends, and kept a list of what each friend liked as a birthday cake and ice cream. She and Charles wintered in Zephyrhills, Florida, for 14 years.
She was predeceased by her parents; sisters Joyce Crosby and Norma Rich; and brother Wayne Teeney.
She is survived by her husband, Charles, to whom she was married for nearly 69 years.
In addition, Maxine leaves behind her daughter, Pamela McLean and partner Pete Moulton of Phoenix, Arizona; sons, Gregory Curtis and partner Joan Corbett of Belmont, Maine and Jeffrey Curtis and husband Dave Corcoran of Rockland, Maine; granddaughter Shanna Barrows and husband Lonny Barrows of Belmont, Maine; grandson Kyle Curtis Burkett and husband Gus Burkett of Northport and Waterville, Maine; great-granddaughters, Mackenzie Barrows and Adria Barrows of Belmont, Maine; sister Wenda Teeney of Brownville, Maine; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the many wonderful caregivers who helped with her care.
At Maxine’s request, there will be no funeral. At a later date, the family will hold a private memorial service at the graveside.
