CAMDEN — Maria H. Loehe, 91, died peacefully Thursday, July 25, at Sussman Hospice House in Rockport.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 16, 1927, she was the daughter of Charles L. and Therese (Puls) Horten.  She married Richard Loehe.

Over 20 years ago, Maria and her husband Richard moved from their home in Maryland, where they were born and raised, to Camden, to be near their daughter and son-in-law, Lin and Ray, and their beloved grandchildren, Ian and Haley Cushing.

She was predeceased in 2016 by her husband Richard after 61 years of marriage.

Maria delighted in hearing from her grandchildren and nieces and nephews and learned to text at age 90, realizing it was now the best way to stay in touch with them.

She is remembered fondly as the “house mom” by the staff at Quarry Hill where she spent the last three years. Maria was a member of the First Congregational Church UCC in Camden.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, August 25, at 3 p.m., at Oak Hill Cemetery, Hosmer Pond Road, Camden with the Rev. Dr. Ute Molitor officiating.

Condolences may be shared with the family at www.longfuneralhomecamden.com.

Arrangements are with the Long Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 9 Mountain Street, Camden.
