ROCKLAND — MaineHealth’s COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Rockport is moving to a new location. The clinic, currently run at the Samoset Resort, in Rockport, will relocate to 409 Old County Road in Rockland and hold its first vaccination clinic there on March 31. Clinics will continue to run at the Samoset until then.

“We are so grateful to the Samoset Resort donating space for our Rockport clinic,” said Mark Fourre, MD, president of Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital, in a news release. “This allowed us to start vaccinating people as soon as the vaccine became available for that purpose in early January. In fact, we have vaccinated almost 4,000 people in the Samoset space so far.

“Being in the Samoset space also gave us the time to retrofit 409 Old County Road so it could serve as the long-term home of the MaineHealth vaccination clinic in Knox County,” Fourre said. “As we transition to this new location, I want thank the Samoset for helping to protect our community during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

All vaccination clinics are open by appointment only, and MaineHealth will confirm which location people should go to when scheduling an appointment. To be scheduled, people must first register by calling 1-877-780- 7545 or visiting https://vaccine.mainehealth.org/join-waitlist.

All MaineHealth clinics follow the guidance of the Maine Center for Disease Control.

The building at 409 Old County Road was part of the local holdings of MBNA and is now owned by MaineHealth. There is a large sign at the roadside displaying the address, and MaineHealth will post additional signs so those with appointments can easily find the location and know where to turn in.
