Maine State Police arrest Belfast man in connection with Stockton Springs fatal crash
On October 5, Maine State Police arrestedAdam Sorrentino, 42, of Belfast in connection with an April 13, 2026, fatal crash on Route 1 in Stockton Springs.
The crash resulted in the death ofAnne Pomroy, 77, of Old Orchard Beach.
The investigation determined that Sorrentino was traveling at a speed in excess of 80 mph and had a blood alcohol concentration more than twice the legal limit at the time of the crash, according to an Oct. 6 news release from the Maine Dept. of Public Safety.
"Investigators allege Sorrentino crossed the centerline and struck Pomroy’s vehicle head-on, resulting in her death," the release said.
Sorrentino was arrested at his Belfast home on October 5, and charged with Manslaughter, Aggravated Criminal OUI-Death Resulting, Reckless Conduct with a Dangerous Weapon, Driving to Endanger, OUI, and Criminal Speed. Sorrentino was transported to the Waldo County Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing.
