Lee Sherrill Arey, 58, died April 8, 2024 at the Sussman House in Rockport. Lee was born October 13, 1965 in Rockland to Sherrill Arey and Maureen Pease Arey.

Lee grew up in Warren, attended local schools and graduated from Medomak Valley High School in the Class of 1984. Lee worked as a Lobsterman and Woodsman all of his working life.

Lee was an avid hunter and fisherman. Lee worked hard and played hard. He was a man of his word, and he could make friends anywhere. Lee loved grilling on his favorite holiday, the 4th of July. He loved his dogs, cats, chickens and especially his pet pig.

Lee was predeceased by his grandparents, Ivan Arey and Gladys Horton and Arthur and Velma Pease; and step-father, Thomas Mahoney.

Lee is survived by his wife, Georgia Arey of Cushing; father, Sherrill L. Arey and his wife Juanita of Warren; mother, Maureen Arey-Mahoney of Warren; sons, Ethan of San Diego, California, and Jessie of Warren; brothers, Anthony Arey of Warren, and Lenny Arey and his companion Lynda Mills of Warren; sister, Linette Butler and her husband Matthew of Warren; grandchildren, Aliya, Blake, Jayden, Ryder and Carson; nephew, Larry Platt of Los Angeles, California, Larson Platt of Warren; niece, Kaianne Crockett and her fiancé Zachary Thorbjorson of Warren; grand nieces, Sarella and Marcelline; aunts and uncles, Donita and Harlan Drinkwater of Searsmont, Mona Pease of Burketville, Dee and Vaugh Pease of Thorndike, Dennis Pease of Liberty, Jenina Wood of Warren and Lolita Grater of Olmstead, Ohio;  along with several extended cousins and friends.

Special friends are Duane Overlock, Michael Sprowl, and Tony Zaccadelli.

A service to celebrate Lee’s will be held April 27, at 4 p.m., at the Warren Masonic Hall, Route 90, in Warren, followed by a reception.
