Knox County grand jury indictments: assault, drug trafficking, theft, forgery

    ROCKLAND — The following indictments against 26 defendants, for a total of 70 counts, were handed down Aug. 4 by a Knox County grand jury after meeting for two days. An indictment does not imply guilt.

    Paul S. Andrews, 37, Maine State Prison in Warren, aggravated assault and assault on an officer (corrections) Oct. 8, 2020.

    Brianna M. Bernardo, 26, of Hope, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon (Glock M44 firearm) in Washington Oct. 8, 2020.

    James Vincent Berube, 23, Maine State Prison, tampering with a victim on Sept. 22, 2020; tampering with a witness or informant on Sept. 20, 2020.

    Philip W. Cunningham, 53, of Nobleboro, aggravated trafficking in drugs (fentanyl) in Knox County on Aug. 19, 2020.

    Christopher J. Dodge, 46, of South Thomaston, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer in Rockland April 1, 2020 of more than $10,000 in cash from Quirk Auto Parts/Car Quest.

    Mark J. Dodge, 38, of Warren, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer of $578 at Lowe’s in Thomaston Dec. 22, 2020;  improper plates in Thomaston Jan. 17, 2021; theft by unauthorized taking or transfer at the Dollar Store in Union Feb. 21, 2021 and May 19, 2021; violating condition of release in Union May 19, 2021.

    William J. Doniel, 43, of Union, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon (baton) and violation of condition of release in Union Dec. 20, 2020.

    Blair J. Drinkwater, 39, of Rockland, criminal operating under the influence (alcohol), operating beyond license condition or restriction in South Thomaston July 14, 2020.

    Christopher E. Griffin, 43, of South Thomaston, domestic violence criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, domestic violence assault and violating a condition of release, all in South Thomaston Feb. 16, 2021.

    Carl B. Gross, 56, of Vinalhaven, aggravated assault on Vinalhaven Jan. 6, 2021.

    Jessica R. Higgins, 37, of Bangor, unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs (methamphetamine) on April 1, 2021; unlawful possession of drugs (cocaine) on April 1, 2021.

    Mark A. Hupper, 36, of Rockport, burglary, two counts, criminal mischief and theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, two counts, all in Rockland at the Time Out Pub Oct. 7 and 21, 2020.

    Jessica G. Lee, 34, of Washington, unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, four counts, (methamphetamine, methadone, Diazepam, Clonadine) and criminal OUI in Rockland Dec. 12, 2020.

    Adelia R. Leonard, 41, of Rockland, criminal OUI, endangering the welfare of a child and operating beyond license restriction in Rockland Oct. 23, 2020.

    Paul A. Mahonen Jr., 43, of Knox, aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs (fentanyl), two counts, aggravated importation of drugs and endangering the welfare of a child in Knox County April 27, 2021.

    Sherry D. Morris, 51, of Rockport, aggravated forgery in Rockland March 13, 2020; possession of a firearm by a prohibited person on Sept. 9, 2020; attempted possession of a firearm by a prohibited person in Rockland May 9, 2020.

    Brandon J. Raye, 36, of Cushing, unlawful trafficking in prison contraband (cocaine) on March 12, 2021; unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, two counts, on March 12, 2021.

    Joseph G. Rodriguez, 27, of Haverill, Mass., aggravated trafficking in drugs (fentanyl), unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs and illegal importation of scheduled drugs all in Knox County April 27, 2021.

    Christopher N. Snow, 31, of Thomaston, aiding escape of Simon Turner in Rockland May 26, 2021; felony assault in Rockland Jan. 6, 2021; violation of a condition of release in Rockland Jan. 6, 2021.

    Jeffrey B. Sparks, 54, of Rockland, unlawful sexual contact with a child younger than 12 in Owls Head July 14, 2014; failure to comply with sex offender law. (SORNA of 1999: Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act)

    Brian L. Taylor, 22, of Bath, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon (knife) in Rockland Feb. 23, 2020.

    Michael W. Thompson, 42, of Lincolnville, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, four counts, burglary, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, all in Camden June 9, 2020.

    Joan M. Tripp, 61, of Hope, forgery, negotiating a worthless instrument and felony theft (of more than $10,000) from May 29, 2019 through Dec. 11, 2020 from the First and or Rockland Savings Bank.

    Christopher G. Watson, 45, of Rockland, operating after revocation, criminal mischief, and leaving the scene of an accident in Camden Dec. 13, 2020.

    Devan Wescott, 26, of Rockland, assault and criminal mischief in Rockport (at Pen Bay Medical Center) Dec. 20, 2020.

    Wesley Shane Williams, 31, of Cushing, domestic violence assault in Cushing June 2, 2020.
