    ROCKLAND — The following cases were closed in Knox County Unified Court from Dec. 8-23.

    Hayley Grace Adams, 19, of Woolwich, domestic violence assault in Union Sept. 16, 2021, dismissed; criminal use of disabling chemicals in Union Sept. 16, 2021, dismissed.

    Lynn W. Archer, 65, of Rockland, violation of retail shellfish rule in Rockland Oct. 12, 2022, $100 fine.

    Stephen G. Balint III, 29, of Rockland, trafficking in prison contraband in Rockland on July 2, 2022, dismissed.

    Brittany J. Betts, 26, of Thomaston, operating vehicle without license on Vinalhaven March 26, 2022, $150 fine.

    David Carter, 42, of Washington, operating under the influence (alcohol) in Rockland July 15, 2022, $700 fine.

    John Dillon, 69, of Spruce Head, hunting from stand or blind overlooking deer bait in Warren Oct. 12, 2022, $500 fine.

    Mary B. Dimatteo, 65, of North Yarmouth, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer and forgery in Rockport April 12, 2021, both dismissed.

    Eric Eggen, 44, of Waldoboro, hunting from stand or blind overlooking deer bait in Rockport Sept. 10, 2022, $500 fine.

    Joshua W. Ellis, 38, of Rockland, probation violation for original conviction of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, priors, in Camden April 18, 2018, five months in jail, probation partially revoked.

    Michael Fisher, 40, of Presque Isle, operating after habitual offender revocation in Thomaston May 3, 2022, dismissed; driving to endanger in Thomaston May 3, 2022, $575 fine, license suspended 30 days.

    Ariel Harper, 31, of Warren, operating while license suspended or revoked in Rockland Nov. 10, 2022, $250 fine.

    Tracy Hughes, 37, of South Thomaston, attaching false plates and violating condition of release on North Haven Aug. 22, 2022, $200 fine each; failure to register vehicle on North Haven Aug. 22, 2022, dismissed.

    Logan Jones, 26, of Cushing, lobstering in closed periods in Cushing Oct. 6, 2022, $250 fine.

    Matthew P. Mason, 40, of Augusta, operating while license suspended or revoked in Washington Nov. 2, 2021, dismissed.

    William A. Mooney Jr., 39, of Warren, violation of lobster crab fishing rule, Chapter 25, Friendship Oct. 10, 2022, $100 fine.

    Marcus P. Mrowka, 39, of Washington, D.C., operating under the influence (alcohol) in Camden April 20, 2021, $500 fine, license suspended 150 days.

    Ansel M. Orne, 35, of Thomaston, operating under the influence (alcohol) in Thomaston July 27, 2022, dismissed; driving to endanger in Thomaston July 27, 2022, $575 fine, license suspension 30 days.  

    McKayla Paulsen, 23, of Spruce Head, operating while license suspended or revoked (operating under the influence) in St. George May 27, 2022, $600 fine, seven days in jail, license suspended one year; violating condition of release in St. George May 27, 2022, seven days in jail.

    Lesley Rose Pinard, 21, of Sabattus, operating vehicle while licensed suspended or revoked in Hope Oct. 7, 2022, $250 fine.

    Heather Poland, 45, of St. George, domestic violence assault in Thomaston May 3, 2022, 90 days in jail.

    Aren J. Polky, 26, of Thomaston, operating under the influence (alcohol) in Thomaston March 11, 2022, $700 fine, seven days in jail, license suspended three years, registration suspended; operating vehicle without license in South Thomaston March 11, 2022, $150 fine, all suspended.

    Philip Postiglione, 29, of Winterport, assault in Thomaston Sept. 27, 2019, $750 fine, 48 hours in jail.

    Edwin L. Raye Jr., 58, of Spruce Head, assault in Rockland May 28, 2021, dismissed; disorderly conduct, offensive words, gestures in Rockland May 28, 2021, $250 fine.

    John H. Seavey, 35, of Washington, elevated aggravated assault in Washington April 18, 2022, dismissed; aggravated assault in Washington April 18, 2022, eight years in prison with all but two years suspended, probation three years, restitution $107; criminal mischief in Rockland May 14, 2022, six months in jail.

    Thomas Wayland Shell, 67, of Hope, who was charged with 17 offenses of sexual assault against a young woman from 2006 through 2014, entered into a plea agreement with the state Dec. 2. The state dismissed 15 of the charges as part of the plea agreement.

    According to the terms of the agreement, Shell must enter into a Maine Pretrial contract, undergo mental health and sex offender evaluation and treatment, refrain from all criminal activity, and not have any contact with the victim or any individual under the age of 18 unless supervised by a parent.

    The term of the agreement is for three years and if Shell agrees to the terms of the deferred disposition, then the remain two counts of the gross sexual assault will be dismissed in December 2025. If Shell does not abide by the terms, then he will face an open plea to both charges.

    Shell was indicted by a Knox County grand jury in January 19 for 11 counts of gross sexual assault, five counts of unlawful sexual contact, and one count of visual sexual aggression against a child in Hope beginning in 2006.

    The Knox County Sheriff’s Office was originally contacted by the Department of Health and Human Services Adult Protective Unit investigating the alleged sexual offenses. The victim had Facebook messenger conversations with Shell containing discussion about the alleged abuse, according to the police affidavit.

    In August 2018, Detective Justin Twitchell conducted an investigation into allegations of misconduct by Shell toward a victim under the age of twelve. The victim was nine years old at the time the alleged abuse began. The misconduct stems back to 2006, according to a news release from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.

    Shell is represented by Attorney Christopher MacLean of Camden.

Sutherland III, 40, of Dresden, refusing to submit to arrest in Rockport March 16, 2020, dismissed; criminal trespass in Rockport March 16, 2020, 90 days in jail; violating condition of release in Rockport March 16, 2020, dismissed; criminal trespass and violating condition of release in Camden June 14, 2020, nine days in jail.

    Stacy Wadleigh, 53, of Vinalhaven, operating after habitual offender revocation on Vinalhaven July 6, 2020, dismissed; operating while license suspended or revoked on Vinalhaven July 6, 2020, $1,000 fine; operating after habitual offender revocation on Vinalhaven Aug. 23, 2020, dismissed.

    Breanna Waldron, 30, of Hope, operating under the influence (alcohol) in Thomaston June 2, 2022, $500 fine, 72 hours jail, license suspended 150 days.

    Nicholas John Wallace, 34, of Wiscasset, criminal trespass in Rockland April 20, 2022, 180 days in jail.

    Terrence Wallace, 27, of Warren, fugitive from justice in Rockland Nov. 23, 2022, extradition waived.

    Scott A. Wilson, 58, of St. George, operating under the influence (alcohol), one prior, in Thomaston March 22, 2022, $700 fine, seven days in jail, license suspended three years, registration suspended.
