PORT CLYDE — Judith A. ‘Judy’ Carty, 77, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Thursday, August 1, 2019 at her home.

Born in Medford, MA, May 17, 1942, she was the daughter of William Donald, Sr. and Alice Blundell Page. Growing up in Medford, she attended high school there.

Judy began her working career at Steins Bakery. She had a love of baking and always had a sweet tooth. While working here she met the love of her life, Richard Carty. The two were married on December 3, 1960 at St. John’s Methodist Church in Medford. The couple resided there for two years before moving to Woburn, eventually settling in Tewksbury. While living there, Judy was a busy mother of three boys and was also employed at the local schools in the cafeteria.

Summering in Maine since she was a child, Judy and Richard moved here permanently in 1986 where they made their home in Port Clyde.

Always active, she enjoyed crocheting, making many beautiful keepsakes for her family. She an avid collector of porcelain dolls and enjoyed shopping for new ones. Her greatest joy in life was her family and she enjoyed spending time with them, playing board games or cards as well as cooking and baking for them. She enjoyed family gatherings and having her family nearby as well as daily phone calls with loved ones. Her faithful dog “Charley” has been her constant companion for the last ten years.

Predeceased by her husband in 2016; Judy is survived by her sons, Richard Carty, Jr. of Tewksbury, MA, Scott Carty and his wife Kathy of Londonderry, NH, Brian Carty and his wife Brenda of Owls Head; her step-daughter, Cheryl Dopkin and her husband Peter of Englewood, FL; her brother, William ‘Bill’ Page and his wife Joan of Punta Gorda, FL; her grandchildren, Eric Carty, Michael Carty, Craig, Carty, Trevor Carty, Nikki Kirk, Jamie Pease, Tammie, Colleen, Emily; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Donald Page, Justine and Randy Belmont and Justine Aylward; as well as a large extended family.

Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, August 9, from 12 to 1 p.m., at First Baptist Church of St. George, (Wiley’s Corner), Snow’s Point Road, St. George, where a celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at the South Parish Cemetery, Ridge Road, Martinsville.
