Joan P. Foxwell, obituary

LINCOLNVILLE — Joan Peterkin Foxwell, 90, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2021 in Camden.

She was born and raised in Chicago, Illiniois, the eldest of three daughters of Bessie and Daniel Peterkin Jr.

Joan married the love of her life, Richard (Bill) Foxwell of Camden, Maine in 1953. They raised four children in Hinsdale, Illiniois where Joan was active with gardening, making pottery, the Arts, and traveling.

After Richard retired, they moved to their house in Northport, Maine where they had a brief business of raising oysters. They eventually became “snowbirds,” spending the winters in Hobe Sound, Florida and traveling the world. She was a long-time member of The Megunticook Golf Club and The Camden Yacht Club, and was active with several local charities.

Joan is pre-deceased by her husband, Richard, and her son, Charlie.

She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Foxwell of Norwood, Colorado; Karen Foxwell of Northport, Maine; and Wendy Bolding of Fairview, Pennsylvania.

She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Taylor Foxwell of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Beth Foxwell of Baltimore, Maryland, Tucker Bolding of Washington, D.C., and Hayley Bolding of Los Angeles, California; and by her five great-grandchildren.
