Jane H. Parrish, obituary

BELFAST — Jane H. Parrish, 88, of Belfast, passed away on February 6, 2019, at home of natural causes.

Born on July 21, 1930 in Natick, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Helen S. Hodges and Clark R. Hodges.

She was a graduate of public schools in Belmont and Belfast, and of Westbrook Junior College in Portland, Maine in 1950. For a number of years she was employed as a legal secretary in the law firm of Linnell, Brown, Perkins, Thompson and Hinkley in Portland.

Jane married John "Jack" L. Parrish on May 28, 1955 and they raised a daughter while living in Portland, Gardiner, and Manchester, Maine.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed annual reunions with both families and many friends, traveling in and outside of the country including two trips to Alaska, camping, counting birds for Project FeederWatch, skating, snowshoeing, craft projects, photography, oil and acrylic painting, gardening, sewing, and refinishing and upholstering furniture. She also enjoyed keeping up with Westbrook College activities during her twenty years as Class Agent.

Jane is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Parrish, and her husband, Robert Corey of Northport, Maine; a sister, Sally Dutton, and her husband, Roger, of Waldo, Maine; a sister-in-law, Pauline Hodges, of Belmont, Maine; ten nieces and nephews, and several grand nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Jack, in 2004; an infant son, Kevin and an infant daughter, Karen; her mother, Helen S. Hodges and father, Clark R. Hodges; sister, June Ellis; brother, Carl Hodges; and brother-in-law Robert Ellis.

At her request, there will be no services.
