AUGUSTA — Former Oceanside High School girls basketball player Hope Butler has received a national accolade in her freshman season on the University of Maine at Augusta women’s basketball team. 

Butler earned United States Collegiate Athletic Association Division II Player of the Week honors Nov. 20 for games played Nov. 10-16. 

During that frame, Butler netted 17 points, 11 rebounds and one block against New Hampshire Technical Institute and 16 points, three rebounds and one steal against Unity. 

Her shooting percentage was 46.4 percent in that time frame.
