WARREN — Heath Edward Barrett, 40, passed away peacefully surrounded by his closest family on February 3, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Rockport, September 29, 1981 to Robert and Vicki Barrett. Raised in Warren, Heath was a 2000 graduate of Medomak Valley High School. Heath then went on to Southern Maine Technical College where he graduated in 2002, at the top of his class, earning a degree in Building Construction. Heath was awarded the Golden Hammer Outstanding Achievement Award.

From a young age, Heath always had a very strong work ethic, starting with mowing cemeteries with his dad and Grampy at the age of ten. His love of carpentry started during his teenage years while he worked at the Woodcraft Shop building custom cabinetry.

As a young man, he also liked to participate in tractor pulling often out pulling men twice his age. Other hobbies included family camping trips, three wheeling with friends, and tinkering on projects with his dad. After college, Heath started his professional career as a builder and ultimately became partners with David Ober to establish Ober and Barrett Builders. As a master carpenter, he took great pride in all of his work, as a true perfectionist he would not settle for anything less.

Heath met the love of his life, Kailey, in 2010 and they married in 2016. Their first child, Quinn, was born in 2017 followed by Callahan in 2020. Their third child, Harrison, is soon to born in March. Heath was a wonderful husband and father, he cared deeply for his family. This was obvious in the big smile that graced his face every time he talked about them. Heath also had a very special close bond with his parents and sister.

Heath had a way about him always making people feel loved. He was always concerned for the health and happiness of others before himself. He lived life to the fullest and had the best sense of humor. He loved all types of music, Hank Williams Jr. most of all. There was nothing he couldn’t do, he was well versed in carpentry, plumbing, electric, mechanic work, cooking, and figuring out the impossible.

He is survived by wife, Kailey, children Quinn, Callahan and soon to be Harrison; parents, Robert and Vicki Barrett; sister, Jenny Barrett Hibl and her husband Scott Hibl, nephew Hunter Hibl; mother in law, Richelle Abbott, and brother in law, Nicholas Abbott.

Celebration of life will be held at the home that Health built, date to be announced.

Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street Rockland.
