Harvey A. Richardson, obituary
ROCKLAND — Harvey A. Richardson, 51, died peacefully, December 15, 2025 at Maine Medical Center in Portland following a lengthy battle with kidney disease. Born in Rockport, September 7, 1974, he was the son of Harvey L. and Ellen Erickson Richardson. Educated locally he graduated from Georges Valley High School. Following high school, Harvey enlisted in the US Army where he served from 1993 to 1998.
After being honorably discharged, Harvey returned to Rockland where he married Cindy Lynn Eagen. Making their home in Rockland, Harvey and Cindy later welcomed their only child, Zoe, to the world.
For several years, Harvey was employed at Jackson Hewett in Rockland before moving on to work in Housekeeping at Pen Bay Medical Center and Laundry Services at the Knox Center.
Harvey loved spending time with his daughter, taking her to sporting events and attending any and all school performances. Being home with his three cats was where he was most comfortable. He loved to have a good steak with butternut squash and sweet potatoes, especially when finished off with chocolate covered cherries.
He was a talented artist, even having one of his drawings featured in a comic book. Listening to music like classic rock or new pop and watching his favorite show ‘Aliens’ or stand-up comedy specials were some of his favorite pastimes. Harvey also kept busy playing Monopoly or serving as the Dungeon Master in a game of Dungeons and Dragons.
He will be sadly missed by all who loved him.
Predeceased by his father; Harvey is survived by his mother, Ellen Richardson of Owls Head; his wife and daughter, Cindy Richardson and Zoe Richardson, both of Rockland; his brothers, Brian Richardson and Wayne Richardson; his mother-in-law, Agnes Eagen of Rockland; several nieces and nephews, and many friends, including those that are like family, Danet Johnson and her daughter Kyra Joy both of Rockland.
A memorial service with military honors will be held Monday, January 19, 2026, at 11 a.m., at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
