ROCKLAND — George D. “Top Dog” Doak Jr., 53, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at his home.

Born in Rockland Dec. 17, 1959, he was the son of George Sr. and Inez Colpritt Doak.

For most of his life George worked as a fish cutter, where he was known as “Top Dog” because no one could cut faster than him. He also worked for the Camden Parks and Recreations Department at the Snow Bowl. Later in life he worked as a stern-man for his late brother-in-law, Lynden “Beaver” Small.

George had an outgoing personality, and loved to kick back a cold one. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

Predeceased by his parents; his brother-in-law; and a friend, Kenneth Costello Jr., for whom he was a caregiver, George is survived by his siblings, Carrie Seavey and her husband, Emery, of Rockport, Kenneth Doak of Rockport, Harold Doak and his wife, Charla, and Dale Doak and his wife, Marsha, all of Rockland; two step-siblings, Lee Cayton of Lewiston and Diana Poland of Rockland; his son, Robert Doak of Waldoboro; his daughter, Jamie Cunningham of Rockport, and a longtime family friend, Lorrie Marriner, and her husband, David.

In keeping with George's wishes, no services will be held.
