LINCOLNVILLE — Everett “Biscuit” Lawrence Reynolds, 98, husband of Anita Barrett Reynolds, died Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Tall Pines after a period of declining health with Anita and Ian by his side.

Born August 16, 1922 in Brooks, Maine, he was one of ten children born to Alfred and Della (Elwell) Reynolds. He attended the school in Brooks and graduated from Morse Memorial High in 1943.

He entered the U.S. Navy and after basic training served on the LCT Ship landing crafts and tankers and served as a cook. He was discharged from active duty March 1946. After that he worked at Eastern Fine Paper Mill nights. He also helped out his brothers in their stores. During daytime he raked blueberries and I'm told he was the best, fastest raker she had. Also picked beans, picked potatoes and whatever else he could find. He also worked Maine Redemption Plant where they made fertilizer. After retiring, he delivered Bangor Daily News in Brooks and drove for Waldo County Transportation. He was such a hard worker.

He loved biscuits which is where he got his nickname. He loved his gardens, always giving to his many friends and family. He enjoyed dancing and wouldn't forget a Saturday night. But if the Red Sox were playing, they had a TV in the kitchen and during intermission, he and his buddies would go and catch the newest news on the team, then return to dancing. He took many friends and family to these games. He loved his grandchildren and would take them and their friends to the mall for shopping. He'd treat them all.

Everett was a lifetime member and past commander of the American Legion Post 183. He put on many suppers to help support the Legion. He knew who baked the best beans and pies. He was also a member of the VFW Post in Northport.

He was predeceased by his parents; also Arlene Roberts, Addie Deering, Meriam, Myron, Ralph, Edgar, Charles, Frank and Jerome Reynolds and his daughter Cheryl Grant.

Everett is survived by his wife of 32 years, Anita; his grandchildren Mike and Shannon Grant of Unity, Lisa Grant of Brooks; 7 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; also many nieces and nephews; stepson Alan and Julie Snowdeal; special step-grandson Ian Snowdeal, who was there when Everett was passing.

Special thanks to the staff at Tall Pines for excellent care and love they gave my husband. I will never forget the kindness and care they gave him.

A celebration of life will be held at the Lincolnville Community Building from10-12 on August 16, 2021 followed by a private burial with military honors. Only 50 people will be allowed due to Covid restrictions. If you come, it would be nice if you brought a finger food to share with all and your own drink.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
