CUSHING — Elaine Edna Matson, 53, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at her home in Cushing.

Born on January 1, 1968 at the Knox County General Hospital in Rockland, she was the daughter of Elmer and Rosalie Matson. She attended Cushing Grade School and graduated from Georges Valley High School in 1986.

For over twenty years, Elaine worked at Rockland Ford. She was an animal lover and had a special way with dogs and cats. She worked at the Camden Animal Shelter and later at Pope Memorial Humane Society in Rockland. She was also employed at Harbor Hounds in Rockland and did individual pet care of many people.

Elaine is survived by her mother, Rosalie; her companion, Raymond Robinson, Jr.; her two children, Ryan and Sarah Robinson; a special aunt, Edna Montgomery; one uncle and several other aunts as well as many cousins.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, John and Siiri Matson formerly of Friendship, and George and Dorothy Montgomery formerly of Cushing; and her father, Elmer Matson.

A private graveside committal service will be held at the Robinson Cemetery in Cushing. Those who wish to remember Elaine in a special way, may make donations in her memory to the Pope Memorial Humane Society
of Knox County, P.O. Box 1294, Rockland, Maine.
