ROCKLAND — Douglas Ray Barnes, 53, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Saturday, September 18, 2021.

Born March 12, 1968 in Rockland to Raymond V. and Elinor A. (Young) Barnes, he was educated in local schools and graduated from Rockland District High School in 1986.

Doug loved his family, friends, and all animals, especially his dog Hannah. He enjoyed music, loved going to concerts, and he loved sports, especially football, which he enjoyed playing in high school.

His job as a Marine Electronics Technician, and his work family at Navroc Marine Electronics were very important to him.

Predeceased by his parents; he is survived by his sisters, Nancy Russell and her spouse Beth of Seal Harbor, Susan Stein and her husband Jay of Camden, Jean Stairs of Warren; his brother, James Barnes and his wife
Linda of St. George; his aunts, Anna Simoes and Dorothy Foster; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
