SOUTH THOMASTON — Dorothy E. ‘Dot’ Payson, 81, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Sussman Hospice House in Rockport.

Born in Rockport, May 5, 1937, she was the daughter of Joseph and Myrtie Corr Conant. Dot was educated in Warren Schools.

Dot was a strong woman and in her later years enjoyed doing cross-word puzzles. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.

She is predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Payson in 2005; three children, Billy and George Waters and Sandra Kaler; and a grandson Rory Waters.

Dot is survived by her children, Toinie Waters of Searmont, Darrell Waters and his wife Laurie of South Thomaston, David Waters and his significant other Jessica Fernandez of South Thomaston; her grandchildren Alina Couillard and her husband Donald, Anthony Toto, III and his wife Heather, Crystal Waters, Jessica Waters, Natasha Waters, Braelyn Waters, Angel Hunt, James Houghton, Lillian Wellman and Gus Wellman; and many great-grandchildren.

Private interment at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be held at a later date.
