Development of single-family rental units proposed for Old County Road
ROCKLAND — A single-family house and a portion of a barn would remain standing while other structures at 438 Old County Road would be demolished to make way for three 6-unit townhouses, should Rockland Planning Board approve a proposal for development of the 1.98 acre parcel.
The property is classified as Residential B and is located between Ridgewood Drive and the Rockland Cemetery Association. Kenniston Field (baseball/softball fields) and Jaycee Park are across the road.
Doing business as Midcoast Home Solutions, LLC, of Methuen, Massachusetts, property owner Eric Peabody plans to maintain ownership of the development and aims to rent the units out for single-family use, according to pre-application paperwork submitted to the Code Enforcement Office.
Peabody received a mortgage deed to the property in September 2023. Midcoast Home Solutions, LLC, will present its proposal to the Rockland Planning Board on Aug. 5, 2025, using designs and application paperwork drafted by Gartley and Dorsky Engineering and Surveying. The Planning Board meeting begins at 5:15 p.m., in City Council Chambers.
