Deborah A. Paradis, obituary
BELFAST — Deborah A. Paradis, of Belfast, 80 years old, went to be with our Lord on July 22, 2025. She was born on May 23, 1945, in Belfast, Maine, to Clarence H. Hamilton and Beatrice Hamilton. She was the youngest of five siblings: Rachel Jones, Richard Nickerson, Everett A. Nickerson, and David C. Hamilton.
Deborah was married to Roger Paradis in Haverhill, Massachusetts. He predeceased her in October 2011.
Deborah filled her life with many activities. She came to know Jesus as her Lord and Savior in 1984 and loved her church family. She was faithful in daily devotions and church attendance. In addition, she enjoyed kayaking, carving and building with wood, biking, ice and roller skating, crocheting, and quilting. She enjoyed watching things grow and feeding the birds. Deborah always seemed to know all the children in the neighborhood, wherever she lived.
Deborah volunteered in search and rescue and Head Start. She served as a guardian of the court for a dear friend. Deborah worked as a CNA for 21 years in Maine and Massachusetts. She also managed real estate, and her first job was in the local shoe factory. She lived in foster homes for much of her childhood, as her mother died when she was very young. Deborah has many foster parents and siblings in Waldo County.
Her parents and all her siblings predeceased her. Her beloved canine companion, Nevaeh Rose, died this spring.
Deborah is survived by one son, Joshua Allen Paradis. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Cherisse, David's wife, and several nieces and nephews.
