Christine Roberts Maxcy, obituary
ROCKPORT — Christine Roberts Maxcy, 91, of Camden, died March 30, 2026 at Sussman House Rockport after a brief illness. She was born in Rockland on June 25, 1934, the daughter of Christopher S. Roberts and Adah E. Roberts.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Edward C Maxcy in 1985; and siblings Ellatine Roberts, Olive Haskell, Arthur Carnes, Morris Carnes, Helene Babbidge, Ruth Danzig.
She is survived by her son Russell Maxcy and wife Joyce of Owls Head and grandson Andrew Maxcy, Boston, Massachusetts; son Charles Maxcy and wife Karen of Blairsville, Georgia; grandchildren Jessica Maxcy of Blairsville and great-grandchildren Jacob and Christopher, and Kiya Thompson and husband Zach of Copperhill, Tennessee and great-grandchildren Noah and Chloe; as well has several nieces and nephews.
A constant in her life were the calls and visits from her nephew Christopher Babbidge and wife Linda; her nieces Elizabeth Nyman and husband Michael, Ellen Bertine and husband John; Caroyln “Cal” Pease and Delle Pierce; her dear friends Sylvia Ross, Elizabeth Wolfertz, Priscilla Lundervall.
Christine was employed as director of Knox County Headstart, Knox/Waldo Red Cross and a substitute teacher for Rockland and Thomaston schools. After retirement she volunteered at the Henry Knox Museum, Rockland Chamber of Commerce and The Sail Power and Steam Museum.
