Jerald 'Jerry' Carr, obituary
ROCKLAND — Jerald “Jerry” Wayne Carr, 81, of Rockland, died on March 24, 2026 at the Togus VA Medical Center. Born in Brooks o September 13, 1944, he was the son of Richard G. and Hazel (Cookson) Carr. A member of the Class of 1962 of Camden High School, Jerry served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1965 attaining the rank of E-4. On April 15, 1977, he married Faylene Keene in Camden.
Jerry’s employment included working at E.L. Spear & Son in Rockland, flagman at Central Maine Power Company, and a clerk at Passmore Lumber Company. In addition, he owned and operated Jerry’s Place, a lunch wagon in Belfast in the early 1990s.
He was a member of the War Memorial Post 30 in Camden and the Penobscot View Grange. For many years, Jerry and Faye resided on the Union Fairgrounds where they also worked as volunteers.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was predeceased by his wife, Faylene Carr; two sons, Frederick and Marshall; brother, Frank Carr, and sister, Estelle Carr.
Surviving is his daughter, Callie Carr and her partner John, of Belfast; three grandchildren, Victoria Noble, Casie Pavelka, Steven Carr; 6 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Alexander Keene of Belfast, and sister-in-law, Jean Bowen.
