CAMDEN — Charlotte Mae Beebe passed away peacefully at home in Camden, on November 26, 2020, after a long battle with Parkinson’s.

Born in Los Angeles, California on April 5, 1937, she was the daughter of Homer and Virginia (Crockett) Zollinger. For over 37 years she was the loving wife of Chris Beebe. Together they built a successful business in Rockland (Steelpro) and travelled the world to many exotic destinations. Charlotte was an incredibly gifted artist and painter, and she also sculpted and created pottery. A natural educator, she received her Bachelor of the Arts and teaching certificate and used her special talents to bring the joy of art to the lives of many students.

Charlotte was an avid gardener known for her beautiful seaside flower gardens. Enthusiastic sailors, Charlotte and Chris were very involved in supporting the Camden Yacht club. She also served on the board of the William A. Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland. People of all ages and walks of life were drawn to her gracious and kind spirit, and she made friends easily and kept up with them over many years as a faithful confidant. Always looking for the best in others, she refused to give any of her life’s energy to negative thoughts and feelings.

In addition to her husband, Christopher Beebe, Charlotte is survived by her three children, Dr. Kent Murphy (Colorado Springs), Shannon Murphy (Benson, Arizona) and Sean Murphy (Chicago, Illinois). Her step children, Christopher Beebe, Joshua Beebe and Athena (Beebe) Thompson were well loved by her.

Also surviving are two attentive grandsons, Michael Murphy and Christopher Murphy.

Charlotte is deeply missed by many, many people all over the country and abroad – she lived a full life worthy of remembrance.

A private celebration of her life and interment will be held in mid-August.

Charlotte’s lasting legacy is one of love and concern for the well-being of others, putting her own needs last. Along with Chris, she was a generous contributor to helping the homeless and hungry in the local area.
