Camden Police charge man with domestic violence assault, unlawful sexual touching
ROCKLAND — A Camden man who was charged with allegedly assaulting a female victim and unlawful sexual touching pleaded not guilty Dec. 7 in Knox County Unified Court.
Camden Police Officer Jeffrey Boudreau arrested Richard Harrington, 59, of Camden, after he responded to an incident at a residence where Harrington and the victim were fighting.
According to court documents, the victim told police she was watching the Patriots football game with Harrington and he had consumed about six beers. She said he seemed upset that the Patriots lost the game and started a fight, grabbed her breast, and was then on top of her after she told him to stop.
The victim was able to scratch Harrington’s face and left two large cuts on the left side of his face, according to the police report. After she was able to get away from Harrington, she went into the bedroom and Harrington got mad and threw her cat across the room, according to the police report.
Boudreau noted that Harrington smelled of alcohol, had red eyes, and mixed up the story about what happened. The victim had a bruise on her arm which lead police to believe that Harrington was the aggressor.
Harrington was transported to the Knox County Jail and his bail was set at $500 cash by Judge Susan Sparaco.
Attorney Barry L. Pretzel of Rockland is representing Harrington as his court appointed attorney.
Harrington’s next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 12 at a dispositional conference in Knox County Unified Court.
