Outlook for 2012: "With a relatively inexperienced group we'll need to work extremely hard and continue to focus on improving every day," said Coach Hurley. "We will no doubt have some bumps in the road this season but I'm confident that come playoff time, this group will be up for the challenge and will vigorously defend our Eastern Maine B title. It should be a lot of fun."

Cross Country
Coach/years on the job: Becky Flanagan, with year with the girls and fourth with the boys team.
Returning Impact Runners: For the Girls,Brittany Bowman continues to work hard and has improved her Falmouth Road Race (Cape Cod) time of just a few weeks ago by more than a minute from last year. Sam Morse is one to watch, she's looking fantastic in practice, has improved dramatically since last year and will be a powerhouse this season. Emily Lopez is solid, as are Willow Parker, Ella Scott, and Lily Kassen. Sophomore Lydia Morin is poised for a breakout season and there are two new additions to the team, Hannah Brownawell, a senior who is running cross country for the first time and is very impressive and Jacqueline Russell, a freshman who has been a force through her middle school years, winning virtually everything since she was in sixth grade.
For the boys, junior Ben Trapani who is very strong this year and two freshmen, Eli Smith, who won everything at the middle school level, and Ben Winchenbach, who was right behind him. We have a number of other returning runners who look to make an impact, as well as several other incoming freshmen.
Competition: Our competition this year for the girls looks like it will be MDI. They are a great team and look forward to seeing them at Festival of Champions at the end of September.
Outlook 2012: "They are learning to run as a team," said Coach Flanagan. "The girls are helping to motivate each other which is going to pay off during races this fall as they encourage each other. I also have a lot of depth in the girls team. The JV runners are going to be a lot of fun to watch. Both boys and girls practice together, which is great. We are trying new things this year, like more dynamic stretching, and seeing what we can do to constantly fine tune their training. They are a great group of students and it will be wonderful season."

Mountain Biking
Coach: Head Coach Casey Leonard. My fourth year working with the program, first year as head coach.
Last Year'a Record: 7-0. We are the Maine State Champions for 13 years in a row as well as the New England Champions for 2011.
Returning Impact Players: Seniors Cole Ellison, Eliot Grigo, Conner Lane, Cade Patten, and Riley Duggan will lead Camden towards their 14th consecutive State Title this year. Seniors Evan Hannibal, Mike Ames, Caleb Whitney, and Chris Pettee will also help lead the Windjammers this season. Returning Juniors this year will be Chapin Lamont, Alex Mansius, Quinten Duggan, Alec Rasso, Joe Tibbetts, and Joseph Simmons. Some of the Juniors will be bumped up to Varsity this year, and some will continue to drive the JV Team to victory. We are hoping to have some Freshman come out for the team this year.
Lost to Graduation: Camden lost 9 seniors this year, including standouts Robin Crandall, Tucker VanDusen, Neal Harrison-Billiat, Henry Owen, and Kendra Patten.
Strengths: Our training ritual is simple, yet effective. Train and work hard, and have fun in the process. The student athletes average between 500-600 miles a season on the bikes in a two month period of time. We are very fortunate to have some great training venues around like the Camden Snow Bowl. The team rides and helps maintain the trails at the Camden Snow Bowl. It's a wonderful resource and we look forward to riding there again this season.
Outlook: "We will continue to work hard as a team and strive for excellence, whether out on the trails, or in the classroom." said Leonard. "We have a couple of new race venues this year. Camden will be competing in the 12 Hours Of Bradbury this season. We will be entering three teams of four participants who will race to see how many laps they can do as a relay team in 12 hours. Having Camden present at this popular race should help promote high school mountain bike racing. We are also pleased to announce that Brian Alexander, and the folks from Central Maine (NEMBA) will be putting together a fantastic race course at The Res in Hallowell this year. We will also be heading to The Second Annual New England Championships held at The Highland Mountain Bike Park in Northfield, New Hampshire. We have two home races this year. One at Maine Sport on Sept. 15. Race start time is 3 p.m. The second race will be at the Camden Snow Bowl for the state championships. This race will be on Oc. 27 with a 1 p.m. start time. I would also like to thank the past coaches Todd Williams, Steve Koskinen, and former Athletic Director Bill Hughes for their hours and hours of time put into the program. The team wouldn't be where it is today if it wasn't for their hard work and commitment. "

Golf
Coach/years at the job: Mark Wallace, 10th year at Camden Hills.
Last Year's Record: 4-6
Returning Impact Players: Sophomores, Daulton Wickenden, Drew Long and Drew Holt. Senior, Eddie Socker.
Players Lost To Graduation: Miles Ingraham and John Vannorsdall
Strengths: We are four strong. Our top four players are made up of three sophomores and one freshman. These guys have been playing together for years and will continue to be grouped together in matches throughout the season. Wickenden is coming off a New England high school qualifier and 9-1 regular season record. He was also an all-state golfer. The young guys are consistent players and extremely hard workers. They are serving as great role models for all the golfers on the team.
Outlook for 2012: "I think we are looking good," said Coach Wallace. "I don't know if anyone can match up score with our top four. I think Daulton will only have a couple of really close matches all season, again he will flirt with an undefeated season. I fully expect to see these boys at the KVAC shoot-out and qualify for states. Of course youth may catch up, but these guys have played more golf than many people twice their ages. Very excited to watch these guys this year."
